Summer lasted longer that it supposed to. Last few days temperatures plunged drastically. A cold reminder that I owe you, as much as I owe myself , at least a short report of my summer parties. It was not the summer I expected. I can't remember the last summer I fully enjoyed. Careless in so many ways.

First of all EXIT. Perfect 5 days. When the music sucked, people around me were briliant. Not a minute to regret. I am posting a video of Surkin recorded by Una from Trash - Dance. Pure happiness.

Beach parties still have it's charms although the team splitted in two fractions. Each with it's own ideas of fun. Flyers above ....

English/Irish/American/Swedish/interracial Toby started DJing and organising clubnights in 1994, just at the point where rave was turning into jungle, and dance music was starting to spin off into multiple genres such as trip hop and IDM. By 1999 he had given up his two residencies to focus on organising bigger shows, tours and festivals, which included anti-racist festivals on the beach in St Petersburg, Aphex Twin playing out on headphones in a tropical greenhouse in London, getting DJ Krust and Ramadanman to remix 80s Bulgarian pop and many more.

In early 2008 inspired by all the new music he was hearing he decided to start playing again after some break. He is currently resident and booker for Trashcotheque (Energija/Summer Plastic) and for the Pirate FM parties (different venues). He uses controller technology to juggle beats and effects and mash up genres into a smooth banging dancefloor mix. He lives in heaven with a collection of sexually charged cats and on earth with his girlfriend.

Back in the days Ian Pooley had a major effect on me and my perception of music. Although, it wasn't his production that made that effect as much as his live sets. I played only one of his tracks "Loopduelle" as it was kind of different than the others. Suited me perfectly. He also had couple of remixes that are worth mentioning, such as remix for Daft Punk's track Burning. But his Essential Mix at the beginning of '98 was probably the most played mix in my life. For me that was, and still is a true House music. A perfect blend (not that perfectly mixed :) of tracks I can't even find today. Only way to listen to them is to listen Ian Pooley's Essential Mix .......

Recognize the guy that did the "stage dive" on my trashcotheque youtube video?

That is how these 2 short pants and party lovers roll. Dejan is a graphical design student in Novi Sad, and Boris is a member of All The Arms We Need and Butcher hard core -metal bands. What kind of music can you expect from them? HEAVY , that's the word.

Recently they had a mini Croatian tour thanks to Sicko Disco crew. They performed in Zagreb @ Cab Club and in Rijeka @ Filter Bar.

Shortpants Romance may be newcomers, but they own the dance floor. Their latest mixtape is a must have car listening mix while going out.

Question: What kind of a person will leave their headliners to wonder around town early in the morning and with no other options for them but to sleep at the beach?

Party Report - Trashcotheque, Belgrade 12.3.2009

Last Minute Booking. You never know when will it hit you :) and there is something about it that adds to excitement.

Trashcotheque is the name for parties that are held once a week in a club called Energija, Belgrade. Small club that manages to get people in on Thursday. This is thanks to Toby, guy from London now living in Serbia, and couple of Belgrade finest enthusiasts I presented in previous posts. Although it was my first time in Belgrade, I felt like home. People there are in one word, unique (love them all).

The headliners were supposed to be two guys from Hungary, Kunk. They cancelled at last minute, and that is where I come to this story. That night people didn't get what was annonounced but I believe they had fun.

One of the few records I manage to save from theft and destruction that ruled at the end of the last century :) Alan Braxe's Vertigo was my '98 No.1 record. Bought it in December 1997 at Brain Records, Trieste. Although original mix was my favorite, Thomas Bangalter's virgo edit was most played. Perfect example of the style of music I embraced at that time. These are 2 (very much used) vinyl rips so the the quality of the previews isn't great :(

One of my first blogging experiences involved downloading a track called Go Back by GRUM.

Party Report - Trashdance party, VINILE, Rosa, Italy 7.2.2009

It is necessary for me do digest impressions from a party, and of course to pick my ass up an write something about it. So don’t be surprised if couple of weeks pass before a review :) Few weeks ago I had a international debut. I was a guest at Trashdance Party in Rosa, Italy.

Here is a little advice for everyone who wants to travel to Italy: Go few hours earlier because

You newer know what is going to happen on the road, and believe me it will happen :)

The trip that usually takes 3h, took me 6h. I was all paranoid I won’t make it on time but luck was on my side, just a little, and I was there just in time to perform. 6h on the road, no stopping, no toilet, it tends to leave marks on a traveling man :)

I was tired that evening from the trip and it took me quite a bit to warm up. Crowd was phenomenal. Full Club, everybody dancing. Boiling hot atmosphere. I must say that the guys playing before me were pretty darn good. Granturismo. Mixture of Italo Disco, Nu Wave, Electro music. For me the best :) I didn’t hear all the other guys performing that night and that left me disappointed, but I’m looking forward to hearing them next time.

Trash Dance residents are few young and talented guys that are making really nice music.

80s Brithday Beach Party

Now, this post should have been written a long time ago. But because I was busy, I left it for a while. Next week in Filter I will host 80s Aerobics Party so this post will be as a announcement for the forthcoming Aerobics.

I always write how awesome our beach parties are, how more and more of our friends are attending these. The 80s Birthday Beach Party was also closing party for summer ’08, and boooi it was fun.

I tried to make this one “special”, so I bought a cheap strobe and mirror ball with spotlight for extra feel :)

The tent, we sometimes assemble, and the dance floor were just to small for this occasion. I think attendance was around 100 and more and that was double pleasure :)

We tried with the dress code but not many people was following that. Not to be blamed, we still have to adopt that practice that many of the young people around the world are following.

80s Aerobics is the next step. We now moved to the club, as we yearned many winters ago.

If you are near Rijeka, Croatia and you feel like losing some weight, put on sneakers, leg warmers, tear those sleeves and come to 80s Aerobics @ Filter Bar January 17, 2009.

Now, these guys don't get a lot of blog space. Unfortunately. I believe diskopunk blog had couple of posts about them. I hope in future, like SymbolOne, blogs will launch them. To my personal taste music is beyond great. Hard to explain the style, as they said, but very, very positive.

Cell D and Xtrapurified are two long time friends from Novi Sad. Producer, with drum ‘n bass background, and designer with nu rave live act featuring visual performance they really rock the stage.

In my previous posts I wrote about their performance at Exit this summer. There they caught my attention and I decided to have them as guest at next Mishu Mitsubishu Party.

24th of December. Christmas eve @ Filter. They’ll have support from Morpheuss and I will always be there :)

My first Mishu Mitsubishu party.

As I announced 30min ago we moved to the club, although that wasn’t the Club mentioned before:) Never the less party was maybe the best example for the ones to come. Guests couldn’t be better for the firstborn. Banana Rave with the young padawan Felony Flats.

They are quite positive little bunch from Belgrade. I almost needed a bus to bring them to Rijeka :) To my luck they all fitted in 2 cars.

I remember, while i was still in high school. Sitting at the end of the classroom by the window and listening to Studio Delta italian radio station on my headphones. I caught the glimpse of one of the Daft Punk song. Da Funk. At that moment I wasn’t even aware of them. Soon they will influence me in many different ways. Don't belive the rumours. I'm not dead :)

These few months it seemed as I was asleep. Well to be honest it felt that way. No new mixtapes, no new posts. Nothing. But there is a new Club at the horizon. Most of my energy was focused only on the making of that Club, beside my lousy full time job. I had no inspiration whatsoever. Still no inspiration :) As soon the hush around the new Club is down I will get busy with the new mixtapes.

Mishu Mitsubishu is moving to the club. I will stay.

Party Report - Perilo 2.8.2008

Ok people, this is how we roll. Since i heard a rumour that people are acutaly reading this blog, and that they are from beyond the borders of "Beautiful Ours" :) I decided to write all my future posts in English. And since I am the laziest bastard to live, there won't be any Croatian. So, the ones who cannot watch a movie without subtitles - screw you! That been said, lets move on.

It seems that our little beach is becoming really small. The last gathering was really something. We had a birthday party, again, and I am becoming jealous to all those summer birthday boys and girls, since I was born in autumn and i cannot afford a party like that. Ok maybe I should move to Australia :) Again, at this party I had a music support from Morpheuss. Never disappointing, always banging. Before we came to the beach there was already one b-day barbecue party taking place, but without music. I provided music, they fed me with some čevapčići :) Thanks. We also had couple of guests from Zagreb and Treviso, Italy. Hope you had a blast. At my last Perilo report I stated that we had a record of people who stayed till 7am. Ok erase that. The record has been broken. I hope we can brake it again by attending this next Perilo happening scheduled on Friday August the 15th. It's the 80s all the way. Bring your 80s bathing suites. See ya :)

Eto ukratko sam sumirao događaje te večeri :) Šalu na stranu, nisam očekivao da će biti toliko dobro. Već kad sam prilazio stageu, dobra vibra i masu ljudi, a to je bio samo početak večeri. Za pultom Felony Flats. Curice su doslovno vrištale "Šala :)" Kako kaže Marmat: "Mali kida opako." E sad nakon njega je nastupao Flip. Nisam se baš naslušao Flipa moram priznati u to vrijeme sam se Marmatom i Norom Klaus družio u backstageu. Čekao da mi Banana Rejv donesu promo mix koji je dostupan za download na kraju posta. Pred kraj je pustio jednu stvar kod koje je očito da je srpska produkcija i jebeno dobro zvuči. Momci ako čitate ovo reci te mi ime stvari. Uplodao sam video sa isječkom :) for the reference.

Danger - samo zbog njega (i The Good Guys-a) sam dosao u Novi Sad. Mogu reći slooobodno: "Nenadjebiv je!". Da nije bilo teške torbice od Nore koju sam morao čuvati naskakao bi se kao nikad u životu. Nakon svega što mu se desilo prije nastupa, čovjek je ostao pribran i odradio to profesionalno do kraja i do jaja. Točka. Hoću još!! DatA je, suprotno mom očekivanju da će puštati svoje stvari, puštao nekakvu retrospektivu francuskoga house zvuka. Hit do hita. Nije bilo loše. Bilo je ludo :) Samo malo razočarenje zbog nedostatka njegovih stvari.

Od kako sam slučajno nabaso na njihovu myspace stranicu, i (u principu na njoj vidio da Danger i DatA nastupaju u na EXITu) čuo muziku koju rade, The Good Guys su mi bili zvijezde večeri. Čekao i čekao, i dočekao. Taj dan mi se njihova stvar "Jackpot" vrtila non-stop u glavi. I nastup im je bio fantastičan. Nisam to očekivao o Novog Sada i od Srbije, ali dečki tamo su godinama izpred Hvratske, a pogotovo Rijeke. Kapa dolje (for real). Dečki svaka čast i na remixevima "Running up that hill" i "Eye of the tiger". ADRIAAANEEEE!!!! :)

Na kraju (na kraju večeri je bio Marmat) još da spomenem Banana Rave. Četverac bez kormilara Nu Rave jedu za doručak :)

Što radiš kada si još dijete i na "rave" partiju? Pitaš se kako si se uspio provući pored izbacivača :) i skrivaš se u najmračnijim dijelovima kluba. Naravno slijedom toga neka najmračnija stvar će te večeri ući u tvoje pamćenje.

Mislim da je bila 1995 godina i u Opatiji je postojao klub TC (nedugo prije toga zvao se XTC). Zvanično moj 1. party. Ne znam ni tko je bio gost Dj, niti se sjećam bilo čega osim bijelog dima, stroboskopa, "I am ready" hip hop breaka i ubojite dizalice nakon toga. Size 9 - I Am Ready

p.s. moram napomenuti da se iza alijasa Size 9 krije Josh Wink. Mora da mu je to broj cipela :)

U ovih 12g nikada nisam mixao u Zagrebu i sad u zadnja 2 mjeseca već 2x. Čudno :)

Neka se svi Dj-i koji su nastupili tu večer ne uvrijede što ih ne spominjem, ali htio bih se fokusirati samo na mađare i na Yas-a koji me iznenadio pomalo sa svojim setom i dobio je kod mene jedan veliki RESPECT zbog ploča (i truda kojeg daje da bi te ploče nabavio). Italo all the way, and i love it.

Tits & Clits su krenuli žestoko sa svojom stvari Ion (my favorite). Dečki rade dobru muziku i imaju kvalitetan live. Moram samo napomenuti da sam prije partija bio jako lijen i nisam se udostojio kliknuti na dva-tri linka i provjerit sa kime ću to nastupati poslušati mixeve ili produkciju. Pojavio sam se u Zagrebu totalno ne spreman i na blef. Shame on me. Neće se više ponoviti.

Headshotboyz, totalno druga priča. Banging style. Siniša mi kaže da ga podsjećaju na Crookers-e. Iskreno nebih znao :) Shame on me second time. Ali ništa loše ne mislim pod tim. dobro sam se iskakao i nekako su logičan slijed nakon Tits & Clits. "Samo ti" je razvalila Logic :)

Ne bih htio previše pisati o fešti ovaj put. 3x rodjendanska fešta. 3x različite osobnosti i ukusi u glazbi. Kako to spojiti? Teško, ali nije nemoguće :) Žao mi je što nisu došli svi koji su pozvani, mada je posjećenost bila i više nego zadovoljavajuća (mogao bi facebook malo i bolje). Sound je bio do sada najbolji u ove 4 (or something) godine koliko partijamo na Perilu. Utjecalo je to i na atmosferu na podiju koja je na trenutke bila Boiling Hot :) Za fotke je i ovaj put zadužena Doris.

Party advice - get Antistatic Pronto :)

p.s. Morao bih još dodati da za sad ovaj party drži rekord po broju ljudi koji su ostali do 7 ujutro. Respect :)

Prvo izdanje francuskog labela Versatile bio je I:Cube-ov - Disco Cubism sa Daft Punk-ovim remixom na B strani. Stvar se bazira na semplu Randy Crawford - Street Life (dulja verzija sa Joe Sample piano solo u sredini). Anyways..... Cheek - Venus (ver 002) je bila prva ploča koja je pokrenula lavinu štovanja "french touch-a" kod mene i kod mojih bliskih prijatelja. Naravno da je i Daft Punk imao utjecaja (TV, Radio), ali ovo je nešto drugačije. Posebnije. Kad sam otkriješ nešto, skoro u prašini, među hrpom ploča u malenom dućanu u predgrađu Praga. Nekakav drugačiji, nježniji zvuk je ovaj put dopirao iz slušalica dok sam preslušavao ploču. Neka (meni) nova imena su pisala na labelu ploče. Ta ploča bila je dio mene dugi niz godina, i imala je veliki utjecaj na muziku koju sam puštao nakon nje. Original mix nikad nisam puštao uživo, ali je bilo na nezaobilaznom kućnom repertoaru. Impresivna oprema za tako "mali" event.

Neugledni ja.

The move.

Prošlu subotu sam imao tu čast da po prvi put nastupam u Zagrebu. Radilo se o deMode večeri u KSET-u. Zvijezda večeri bio je "milo dijete" iz Švedske a.k.a Databas. Dečko ima 16g (ja mislim) i, isto tako kao i u zagradi, mislim da je velika budućnost pred njim. Muzika je za moje pojmove prilično odlična :). Malu zamjerku imam samo na njegov live nastup koji je više bio PLAY-STOP-PLAY . Pretpostavljam da mu nije stoti lajv i da ima još vremena za nešto konkretnije.

Što se tiče mog nastupa, htio sam sve to snimiti pa da, naravno, sami prosudite. Došlo je do tehničkih poteškoća (čitaj: Nisam stisnuo REC ) i nažalost ništa od toga, ali.... pripremam mix za lipanj koji će biti u duhu te večeri (barem što se mog seta tiče).

Ovim putem zahvaljujem ekipi iz deMode-a na svemu i nadam se da ćemo to ponoviti još jednom.

Eto dogodilo se i to. Glavni i odgovorni urednik, Boba, priredila je za nas otvorenje sezone na Perilu. Dobra muzika + dobra ekipa i eto ti cuda. Opce raspolozenje pokvarila je samo jedna vatrica (koja je konstantno dimila po podiju) i losa igra nogometne nacionalne vrste. No necu sad o tome. Ukratko. Kako je pocelo, ocekujem samo jos bolje i vece tulume na nasoj najdrazoj nocnoj plazi.

Sljedece okupljanje 21.6.2008. Rodjendansko ludilooooo ........
